Best of Breed, in a Suite
The “Best of Breed” vs “Best of suite” dilemma has companies, especially large-sized, caught in a tough spot.
“Best of Breed” refers to the absolute best solution or product on the market that solves a certain problem, and it could be, for the most part, coming from a small or medium size supplier. Companies that are in need of many IT solutions, have to contract, and retain relationships with many different suppliers, in order to claim the best value. An organization making this choice would win on the value of the chosen products but spends more on managing several supplier relationships.
“Best of Suite” refers to the set of solutions that are offered by large suppliers, that have an overall suite of services, not necessarily the best, but good enough to procure in a single contract or a single supplier relationship. An organization making this choice reduces the costs of managing many supplier relationships but loses the additional value on the product features.
Our proposal is for an organization to keep the value of the best products in the market, while we, at Global TDC, would manage the supplier relationships, on behalf of the organization.
